Innovations in energy, transport, manufacturing, robotics, and AI are on the horizon, and engineers will play a key role in reinventing these industries.

As Higher Education curricula fail to meet the demands of the labour market in regards with the technological advancements, twin transition and sustainable digitalization, FuturENG project aims to fill this gap.

FuturENG state of the art learning materials cover 4 main topics

  • Deep tech,

  • Industry 4.0 & 5.0,

  • Twin transition & Sustainable digitisation,

  • Social, environmental & ethical implications.

FuturENG delivers

  • an interactive tech Essentials MOOC for HE engineering students uniting the topics of deep tech, I4.0, twin transition and sustainable digitisation.

  • a challenge-based learning Toolbox aimed at boosting HEI engineering students digital, green, and transversal skills through the use of webquests.

  • a dedicated Training guide & Roadmap for HE educators.

  • FuturENG Knowledge triangle Cooperation Methodology.

Our Experience

We’re excited to share insights from Work Package 2 (WP2) of the FuturENG project, focused on innovative learning resources for engineering students. Across partner institutions, students and staff piloted our MOOC and Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) Toolbox, providing invaluable feedback for refinement.

Highlights include:

    • Engaging pilot phases and a digital hackathon

    • A dynamic LTTA week at ISQ, featuring workshops to enhance WP2 outputs

    • Collaborative input from students and staff that shaped the final resources
